The Quality Control Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that outgoing products from the manufacturing company meet the highest quality standards.
They are responsible for meticulously examining and testing products to verify that they are defect-free and comply with internal specifications and external guidelines.
This role requires strong attention to detail, a deep understanding of manufacturing and production processes, and extensive knowledge of specifications and product testing procedures.
Primary Job Roles:
Conduct thorough inspections:
Perform detailed inspections on outgoing products to identify defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from the established quality standards.
This involves visual examinations, measurements, functional tests, and other relevant assessments.
Compliance with specifications and guidelines:
Compare the characteristics and features of the products against internal specifications, industry standards, and external guidelines (such as ISO, FDA, or customer-specific requirements) to ensure full compliance.
Documentation and reporting:
Maintain accurate records of all inspections and test results, documenting any non-conformities or deviations.
Generate comprehensive reports that highlight quality issues, trends, and improvement opportunities.
Testing and analysis:
Execute various product testing procedures using appropriate tools and equipment.
This includes performing physical, chemical, or mechanical tests to evaluate the product's performance, durability, reliability, and safety.
Continuous improvement:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Propose process enhancements and quality control initiatives to prevent defects and improve product quality.
Calibration and maintenance:
Ensure that testing equipment and instruments are calibrated, maintained, and in good working condition.
Adhere to established calibration schedules and maintain proper documentation.
Training and guidance:
Provide training and guidance to production personnel regarding quality control procedures, standards, and best practices.
Promote a culture of quality awareness throughout the organization.
Audits and inspections:
Conduct internal and external audits to evaluate compliance with quality management systems, regulatory bodies, or customers as required.
Qualifications:
Skills/Abilities:
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production techniques, and quality control principles.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality management systems.
Proficiency in using various measuring instruments, testing equipment, and statistical analysis tools.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify even the slightest defects or deviations from specifications.
Analytical mindset with the ability to intercept complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting and documentation.
Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to identify root causes and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.
Experience/Education:
2-5 years of experience in a relevant field such as engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, or a related discipline is preferred.
Proven experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment, with a focus on product inspection and testing.
Work Location:
Plant/Warehouse is a non-climate controlled environment Plant located in Arvin, CA #IND1.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
